Significant auroral displays occurred world-wide across the northern hemisphere this evening. Slight activity detected at about 8:00 PM local time and then increased dramatically by 10:00 PM. Brilliant green and pink hues that strengthened and faded over time, the colours are more vibrant through the camera eye than the naked eye.

This view is looking east; over the chimney the Pleiades can be seen rising in the glow. Perseus is to the left, Triangulum and Aries to the right, and Andromeda at top.

View looking towards the zenith; gives the impression of the aurora coming straight down on top of you. This is the most dazzling display I’ve seen by far in an urban setting.
