Swan Nebula in Sagittarius

10.1" reflector   43 x

Easily spotted about 1.2 degrees south of M16. A very bright and concentrated emission nebula, probably second only to M42 in brightness. Swan-shape easily discernable; the dark portion between the head and body is very black. Total length from head to tail is about 13'.
