10.1" reflector   96 x  Speers-Waler ep.

Medium size spiral about 3'-4' across, slightly oblong in a south-east north-west direction. It has a condensed core with some dimmer nebulousity surrounding it. M95 is about 45' to the south-west.

M96 is part of the Leo Galaxy Group, which includes the M65, M66, NGC 3628 triple, the M105 and NGC 3384 pair, and M95.
